A little about me…
I’m a licensed private-practice play therapist, author, speaker, and parenting expert. Working exclusively with children and their families, I created The Kid Counselor blog to offer parenting and Play Therapy tips in 2006.
I’ve been featured in The New York Times, and on CNN and iVillage. I earned my PhD from the University of South Florida, where I taught courses in counseling.
I’m a Florida girl!
As a native Floridian, I love the beach, the sun, and the water. I live in the Tampa Bay area with my husband and son.
I’m also a HUGE baseball fan!
My family and I love the Tampa Bay Rays (our home team) and we are currently on a mission to follow the Rays to all 30 MLB ballparks.

We love cruises
Our preferred vacation mode is going on cruises. We’ve been on 15 cruises, and our son (who is an only child) has been on 10! He’s a veteran cruiser.
Living in Florida, we’ve been on almost every Caribbean cruise, but last summer we went to Alaska, which was our favorite vacation ever.
